319.6 Pound Catch Wins Seward Halibut Tournament

Tim Berg won the $10,000 first place prize in the 2008 Seward Halibut Tournament held every June in Seward, Alaska. Berg blew away the competition by almost doubling the weight of the second place finisher. The 7 foot 4 inch halibut was landed on a Penn International Torque 200 reel spooled with 40 lb. test line. Tim says, “I only fish with Penn reels as I have always found them to be the most reliable reels on the market.” With over 31 years of experience fishing and conducting guided trips on his vessel the “Grande Alaska” it is safe to say Tim knows what works.
