Marion Rose's 124.50 lb. Cubera Snapper Penn International 16VS Reel

The International V-Series began on the drawing board of Penn’s Engineering Department as a challenge to create and design the best and most innovative generation of Lever Drag reels on the market. With even more innovative features than ever before, the Penn International V-Series reels have set the new standard.

The PENN International 16VS used by Get Lit in the World Sailfish Championship gives the saltwater angler a high performance two-speed reel with a high gear ratio of 5.3:1 with a line retrieve of 45 inches and a low gear ratio of 2.1:1 with a 17-inch retrieve that is easily managed with PENN’s patented Quick-Shift™ system. Dura-Drag ™ washers offer a drag system that virtually eliminates hesitation and offers consistent performance throughout the fight. Stainless steel gears and four ball bearings give the angler the smoothest performance in saltwater. The 16VS spool capacity is 1000 yards of 16-pound test monofilament or 525 yards of 80-pound braid with 50-yards of 60-pound topshot. Penn continues to offer the most advanced and reliable fish-fighting reels in the world, and we have the records to prove it.
